BeritaNU Ramadan Activities in the Berbah District, Sleman, DIY
Berbah, Sleman – In welcoming the holy month of Ramadan 1446 H, the Executive Branch of Nahdlatul Ulama (MWC NU) in Kapanewon Berbah has resumed its regular religious study sessions. These gatherings will be led directly by the Rais Syuriah of MWC NU Berbah and held at Majelis Ya Badi’, located in Cangakan Village, Baran, Kalitirto, Berbah, Sleman, DIY.
The study sessions will take place every night after the Tarawih prayer and Quran recitation (tadarus), starting at 9:00 PM WIB until completion.
Discussion on Surah Ghafir (40): Verses 1-9
In the first session, the study focused on the tafsir (exegesis) of Surah Ghafir, verses 1-9, with special emphasis on verse 7. This verse describes the position of the angels who carry the Throne (Arsy), constantly glorifying Allah, believing in Him, and seeking forgiveness for the believers.
In his explanation, the Rais Syuriah of MWC NU Berbah quoted a tafsir stating that these angels belong to a special group who not only worship Allah but also seek forgiveness for those who repent and follow His path.
“The angels not only glorify Allah but also pray for the safety and elevation of human beings in His sight. They entrust everything to Allah’s mercy, which encompasses all things,” he explained.
This explanation was based on Surah Ghafir (40): Verse 7 and its tafsir:
“Those who carry the Throne and those around it exalt their Lord with praise and believe in Him. They ask forgiveness for those who have believed, saying: ‘Our Lord, Your mercy and knowledge encompass all things, so forgive those who repent and follow Your way, and protect them from the punishment of Hell.'”
According to Imam Qusyairi in Kitab Tafsir Lathoiful Isyarot , it is mentioned:
“The bearers of the Throne and those around it are among the elite groups of angels. They are commanded to glorify Allah and then to seek forgiveness for sinners—since forgiveness and repentance can only come as a result of sins. They strive earnestly in praying for humanity, as described in this verse and subsequent ones. They pray for their salvation and the elevation of their ranks, but they leave all matters entirely to Allah’s mercy.”
Open Invitation to the Public
This religious study session is open to the public and aims to deepen the understanding of Islamic teachings during the holy month. The community in and around Berbah is invited to attend and benefit from these profound tafsir discussions.
